Redeem Time

How do you spend your time? To redeem something, we need to get a hold of it. We need to regain it. We can’t regain what we are not conscious of or aware of.

Time is a gift from God. It’s easy to take it for granted until we are out of it. Time comes in moments like this one, right here and now, as you are reading this. We can’t redeem or make the most out of the time we have if we don’t tune into how we spend it. What do you do with your time? What do you let in? What do you put out?

One of my business coaches reminded me of this juicy nugget: Time = Intimacy with Self. So, when we say, “I don’t have enough time,” we’re communicating that we are not important or that we’re afraid to be vulnerable and reveal our true emotions. If you never have enough hours in the day to do all you need to get done, when do you have time to feel what you feel?

When we are disconnected and not aware of how we spend our time, we are saying one of three things.

  1. We are disconnected from ourselves
  2. We are not important
  3. We don’t want to feel vulnerable

This usually plays out unconsciously in our lives through habits of thought and the stories we tell ourselves. What shows up on the outside reveals what is going on inside.

How can we redeem our time if we are not conscious of how our time is being spent?

Time is the one common commodity we all have. Time feeds our soul, not our body. Yet, our bodies experience the results.

Think of the person who goes to work, makes good money but hates their job. How does it feed their soul and how does it show up in their body? How does it show up in their relationships?

That person doesn’t need to change their job to be happy. They need to change their mindset to value their time, and their job will change.

What we do within will come to light.

How do you set your intentions for your hour, day, week? How do you time chunk your day? How do you create value with the time you have? When do you allow yourself time to feel your emotions, be vulnerable and intimate?

When we have a new mindset, we create new habits. When we create new habits, we create a healthier us. Beauty inside and out.
